What is IVF procedure? For whom should we do this?
Usually, empty stomach patients come an hour before we tell them to come in the morning. So, after they come, we give them the instructions. We give them instructions on what medicines to take and how to come. So, we usually call this as a day care procedure. Day care procedure means, we give them a light anaesthesia and keep them in a hospital for 4 to 6 hours.
In this duration, scanning is done using a transvaginal molecule. We introduce the probe of the scanning and insert a needle. We suck the water bubbles that are visible in the follicles and take them out.
The follicles or egg that we want to produce is a media, a culture media. From here on, we will require the help of an embryologist. The embryologists check the quality of the eggs and how to inject sperm. They decide and give us a final count.
After we get the eggs, we get a count of the number of oocytes. So, on the same day, when the husband gives the sperm sample, the embryologists clean it and process it. They inject a healthy sperm into each egg like a needle.
