Question: I keep getting filings returned by the Harris District Clerk's office. The Remarks read: The complete document title is to be entered exactly as it appears on the filing in the description field of the lead document. What is the problem?

Answer: The issue is that, as far as we know, the Harris District Court is absolutely fanatical about how you enter the document title in the Filing Description field. See the highlighted Filing Description field in the screen shot below.

They require that you:

1. Enter the document title into the Filing Description field exactly as it appears in the document,
2. Do not abbreviate and of the words unless they are abbreviated in the document title, and
3. Enter the document title as it is until you run out of allowed characters.
