Document Upload Policy - Smith County Court at Law
General Information
- Credit Cards Accepted: Visa, MasterCard, American Express
- Court is integrated. Case information for an existing case will not be provided to you.
- Court is charging the $2 cost recovery fee.
- Attachments are allowed combined into single document.
- Multiple lead documents per filing are not allowed.
Initial Filings
- Case Information Sheet should be submitted as a separate lead document in a new filing.
- Exhibits should be uploaded as attachment to the original petition.
- Complete the Citation Service Request and upload as an attachment to the lead document. On the Add Document page, select Service Work Order in the Document Type field.
- Order and pay for Citation Requests, Copies and the like under Court Services.
- The addresses of the plaintiffs are required. The addresses of the defendants are required.
- In preparing an Original Petition all parties should be listed.
- All exhibits should be merged into a single document.
Subsequent Filings
- Items not needing a file stamp (proposed orders, notices, etc) should not have a cover letter as the lead document.
- Motions should be filed as lead documents.
- Exhibits should be filed as lead documents.
- Proposed orders should be filed as an attachment with a cover letter as the lead document.
- Exhibits should be filed as an attachment with an appropriate lead document.
- To request citations and the like, create and upload a cover letter request as the lead document in the filing (Filing Code: Requests).
- Order and pay for Citation Requests, Copies and the like under Court Services.
Case Information Availability
This jurisdiction’s Case Management System, (CMS) is fully integrated into the State eFiling system.
When you are making a subsequent eFiling into an existing case for this jurisdiction your case should be available in the eFiling system and your case information will be automatically imported.
If the case is not found, please recheck your search criteria. If the system still does not return your case, please send an email to support@filetime.com. We will contact the State eFiling system and jurisdiction to correct the issue.
